PATH TO CONTROLLING THE U.S. SENATE IS GEORGIA

Why is Georgia important?

From the perspective of economic stability and containing the COVID-19 pandemic, the Democratic party with President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. has a superior game plan than the one offered by the loser, current President Trump.

Two critical runoff elections in Georgia will decide control of the Senate. Despite President Trump’s loss here, the incumbent Republican senators are not trying to broaden their appeal to a cross-section of voters. The early days of the runoff races look much like the months that preceded them, with the Republican senators, Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue, filling the airwaves with scathing attack ads. They are spending tens of millions of dollars embracing a strategy of riling up the conservative base in hopes of generating enough turnout to win two critical runoffs. At a recent rally, Ms. Loeffler said Democratic victories would “literally shred the fabric of what makes our country the greatest in the world.” This reprehensible theme and other relentless, baseless claims about voting fraud and erode trust in the electoral system are being pushed as a means to circumvent the real issues – saving lives and containing the pandemic.

The Democratic candidates, the Rev. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff, have run as pragmatists in the mold of Mr. Biden, declaring that the pandemic is the number one issue that must be solved; if not Americans would see unemployment numbers greater than the Great Depression. The proposed vaccines from AtraZeneca, Pfizer, and Moderna are shown to be at least 90% effective in trials, and good news. But Republicans cannot whitewash their past actions or justify COVID-19 deaths.

MEANWHILE, the SEC and U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) are investigating insider trading allegations lodged against Senators David Perdue, Kelly Loeffler, and others, alleging that these public officials sold millions of dollars in stock just weeks after being privately briefed on the substantial impact the novel coronavirus would have on the economy and the stock market. At the same time, Trump said the COVID-19 was a “hoax.”

When carefully reviewing the pieces, the game is up for the Republicans. The voters have spoken – the pandemic was not managed properly. Republicans have made millions of dollars at the expense of the American people. With a Democratic victory in Georgia by Rev. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff, the Senate will be secure and President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. will have complete authority to execute a comprehensive plan to eradicate COVID-19.

Northridge Media is not political; our focus is the preservation of the Constitution, which established America's national government and fundamental laws and guaranteed certain basic rights for its citizens. Indeed, “fundamental laws” is the rule of law and must be embrace not with caprice and impulse, but with a consistent objective – preservation of the Constitution. Trump has usurped his right to govern by the inability to manage a strategic undertaking to contain the COVID-19 virus in February 2020. Among the 45 countries with more than 50,000 COVID-19 cases, the U.S. has the eighth-highest number of deaths per 100,000 people: 47.93 deaths from the coronavirus for every 100,000 Americans.

Under another standard, the Republican Administration under Trump failed in its responsibility to the American people. All the other noises about Trump, for and against, cannot justify 267,000 deaths and 12,600,000 people with the illness.
