GOLD RUSH - SECOND ROUND

Coca-Cola Company (KO) $46.07 wants in!

And becomes the next major play to enter the cannabis drinks business. KO, the world's largest beverage maker, wants a drink infused with CBD -- the non-psychoactive ingredient in marijuana that treats pain but doesn’t get you high. Canadian marijuana producer Aurora Cannabis Inc. (ACBFF) $7.32 to develop the beverages, according to a report from BNN Bloomberg Television.

In 2012 we predicted that the “end-product market” is where the real value in cannabis would create the most significant percentage of net profits. Ko ’s thinkable foray into the marijuana sector comes as beverage makers are trying to add cannabis as a trendy ingredient during their traditional businesses slow. Last month, Corona beer brewer Constellation Brands Inc. (STX) $210.76 plans to commit an investment of $3.8 billion in Canopy Growth Corp. (CGC) $47.78, the Canadian marijuana producer with a value that exceeds C$13 billion ($10 billion). Molson Coors Brewing Co. (TAP) $64.04 is starting a joint venture with Quebec’s Hydropothecary Corp., a private company, to develop cannabis drinks in Canada. Diageo PLC, the maker of Guinness beer, is holding discussions with at least three Canadian cannabis producers about a possible linkup. Heineken NV’s (HEINY) $48.17, Lagunitas craft-brewing label has launched a brand specializing in non-alcoholic drinks infused with THC, marijuana’s active ingredient.
